It’s very easy to do. In this guide, you’ll learn how to connect your Nintendo Switch to your TV in simple steps. You don’t need any extra tools just the parts that came with your console.

    What You Need

    Before starting, make sure you have these items

    2. Nintendo Switch Dock
    3. HDMI Cable
    4. AC Adapter (Power Cord)
    5. TV with HDMI Port

    All these items come in the box when you buy a new Nintendo Switch.

    Step-by-Step: Connect Nintendo Switch to TV

    Step 1: Open the Back of the Dock

    1. Take your Nintendo Switch dock.
    2. Open the back panel. This is where the cables go.
    3. You’ll see three ports:

    AC Adapter

    USB

    Step 2: Plug in the AC Adapter

    1. Take the power cable (AC Adapter).
    2. Plug the small end into the “AC Adapter” port on the dock.

    Step 3: Plug in the HDMI Cable

    1. Take your HDMI cable.
    2. Insert one end of the HDMI cable into the “HDMI OUT” port on the dock.

    Note down which HDMI slot you used (like HDMI 1 or HDMI 2).

    Step 4: Put the Nintendo Switch Console into the Dock

    1. Before docking, make sure the console is either off or in sleep mode.
    2. Carefully place the console into the dock from the top.
    3. You’ll see the screen turn off. That means it’s connected.

    Step 5: Turn On the TV and Select the Right HDMI Input

    1. Grab your TV remote and switch the input source.
    2. Choose the HDMI port where you plugged in the Switch.
    3. Now, the Switch home screen should appear on your TV screen.

    Use the Joy-Cons or Pro Controller

    Once connected, you can detach the Joy-Con controllers from the console.

    1. You can use the Joy-Cons on their own or attach them to the controller grip.

    Keep Your Dock and Cables Organized

    To avoid problems

    1. Keep the cables untangled.
    2. Clean the dock and HDMI ports with a dry cloth now and then.
    3. Don’t move the dock too much while the Switch is inside.
