Apple WWDC 2025 brought a major software design update called “Liquid Glass.” This new style will roll out across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Vision Pro devices. Apple says it is the biggest interface change since the flat design of iOS 7.
What is Liquid Glass?
Liquid Glass is a new visual language. It makes buttons, menus, and controls look like clear, shiny glass. It plays with light and background color sand also reacts to your movements on screen . Apple says it offers “the look of glass combined with smooth motion that only Apple can create.”

Where you will see Liquid Glass
- Buttons, sliders, and switches will now have a shiny, see-through look.
- Navigation bars like tab bars and sidebars will shrink and expand smoothly as you scroll
- System areas, lock screen, home screen, notifications, Control Center will all use Liquid Glass effects
- App icons, widgets, and menus will have a layered glass appearance in light, dark, or clear modes

Apple wants a unified look across all devices. This join-up follows the style in Vision Pro’s visionOS and brings that same depth and realism to everyday screens
